Rustam Rahmedov

Rustam Rahmedov was born in a family of opera artists in Ashgabat, capital city of Turkmenistan. Rahmedov graduated from Danatar Ovezov Turkmen State Musical High School as a valedictorian and was accepted as an honors student to Turkmen National Conservatory. During his studies in his major of classical piano, he also studied composition and jazz music. Following his graduation, he started to work as an instructor of piano and chamber music classes at the same conservatory. He won consecutive first place prizes as soloist at prestigious piano competitions. The recognitions included the winner of the State Frederic Chopin Competition and Presidential Art Competition “Golden Age” award.
Rahmedov collaborated with Guy Braunstein, Naoko Shimizu, Sergio Azzolini, Maurice Steger, Christoph Sietzen, Sergey Ostrovsky, Monia Rizkallah, Ithzak Rashkovsky, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Aga Mikolaj, Aydar Gaynullin  and Tolga Salman. Worked with conductors, Toshiyuki Shimada, Julien Masmondet, James Feddeck, Mathieu Herzog, Pierre Bleuse, Avi Ostrovsky, Vladimir Ponkin, Andri s Poga, Gurer Aykal, and Ender Sakpinar with Turkmen Philharmonic Orchestra, Turkmen Youth Chamber Music Orchestra, Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, Bilkent Youth Symphony Orchestra, Bilkent Soloists, Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra and Eskisehir Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra.
The artist performed in notable concert halls including, Ronald Reagan International Trade Center (Washington, USA), Tatar State Opera & Ballet Theatre (Kazan, Tatatistan), National Opera House of Ukraine (Kiev, Ukraine), Yerevan Opera Theatre (Yerevan, Armenia), Tel-Aviv Opera House (Tel-Aviv, Israel), Ahmed Adnan Saygun Arts Center (İzmir, Turkey), Bilkent Concert Hall (Ankara, Turkey), and Lutfi Kirdar International Convention and Exhibition Center (Istanbul, Turkey).
In 2016 Rahmedov joined the faculty of the annual Keshet Elion International Master-course organized in Israel where he works together with renowned doyens of classical music such as Eduard Grach, Rosa Fain, Ilya Kaler, Haim Taub, Shmuel Ashkenazi, Grigory Kalinovsky, and Sergey Ostrovsky.
Completing his Master of Art degree in Conducting, Rahmedov is assistant conductor of the Bilkent Youth Symphony Orchestra, artist of the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra and faculty member of the Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey.
